Introduction: Quincke's edema

Description of Quincke's edema

Quincke's edema: Involves swelling of deep skin layers and fatty tissues under the skin as well as the mucous membrane. The condition involves recurrent swelling of tissues, abdominal pain and swelling of the voice box. It is often caused by an allergic reaction to drugs or food. It is also called angioneurotic edema, giant urticaria, Quincke's disease or angioedema.
