Spinotectal tract: [TA] the relatively small component of the anterolateral system that terminates in the intermediate and deep layers of the superior colliculus; part of a larger population of spinomesencephalic fibers that also includes spinal projections to the periaqueductal gray substance (spinoperiaqueductal fibers). SYN: tractus spinotectalis [TA].
