Telencephalon: [TA] The anterior division of the prosencephalon, which develops into the olfactory lobes, the cortex of the cerebral hemispheres, and the subcortical telencephalic nuclei, and the basal nuclei (ganglia), particularly the striatum and the amygdala. SYN: endbrain. [G. telos, end, + enkephalos, brain]
