Thorax as an Organ

Thorax (organ): The thorax is located in the chest area above the abdomen and is a section of the body that contains some vital organs and other internal and external structures. These include the trachea, heart, lungs, pulmonary artery, esophagus, pulmonary vein, superior and inferior vena cava, and aorta. The thorax also contains external anatomy, including the nipples and the muscles and bones of the chest.
