Introduction: Transient

Description of Transient

Transient: (1) Short-lived; passing; not permanent; said of a disease or an attack. (2) A short-lived cardiac sound having little duration (less than 0.12 seconds) as distinct from a murmur; e.g., first, second, third, and fourth heart sounds, clicks, and opening snaps. [L. transeo, pres. p. transiens, to cross over]
