• The condition is very difficult to treat as the infection is located between the nail and the nail bed and is thus difficult to access. The condition may take months or longer to resolve
• Systemic antifungal medication - terbinafine, itraconazole
• Topical antifungal agents - ciclopirox, amorolfine
• Surgical removal of nail - use of antifungal medications is also required
• Chemical removal of nail - use of antifungal medications is also required
