Nodular Prurigo

Nodular Prurigo: Introduction

A chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by very itchy dome-shaped nodules that can occur on most parts of the body but are more common on the lower arms and legs. Scratching causes the nodules to become crusty. The cause is unknown but can occur after insect bites in some people. The condition can occur in all ages but is more prevalent in adults. The intense itching can cause distress and depression as they are difficult to treat and may persist for some time.
