10 percent of hospital patients suffer a preventable medical mistake

The WHO claims that 10% of people who go to hospitals for treatment will be subjected to a preventable medical mistake. It is believed that between 44,000 and 98,000 deaths were caused by medical errors in 1999. These figures are even higher in developing countries. Medication errors make up 25% of the mistakes.
