Arbitration may prevent unnecessary malpractice court cases

All Italian doctors face an 80% chance of going to court for medical malpractice. Specialists face a greater risk than orthopedics, gynecologists, obstetricians, anesthesiologists and surgeons. Oncologists face the lowest risk. However, 66% of those that go to court are found to be innocent. Experts believe that arbitration would prevent unnecessary court cases.
