Smoking has now been attributed to the development of diabetes from a recent study that found the development of diabetes in a smoking study group was 25% compared with 14% of the non-smoking group. Other adverse effects that smoking has on the body include cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks, stroke and high blood pressure, and cancer, particularly of the lung.
