The family of a medical malpractice case received $950,000 from the hospital without even going to trial as it was so obviously caused by negligence. A 15 year old boy died in 200 following routine surgery to fix a breastbone defect. The boy died following 30 hours of deterioration in his condition during which time, no-one sought the help of an experienced physician.
