FDA approves new osteoporosis drug

The Food and Drug Administration has approved Menostar which is used to prevent osteoporosis. It is a transdermal patch that delivers very low doses of oestrogen daily. Tests show that it does not preclude endometrial or other cancers and increased spine bone mineral density by 2.6% over 2 years.
