20% of carriers of fragile X syndrome will have early menopause. Fragile X syndrome is the number 1 cause of mental retardation and accounts for 20% of autistic people. It is a greatly underdiagnosed condition because symptoms can range from mild to severe. Some symptoms include, lack of social contact and delays in language development.
