Higher cholesterol found with decaffeinated coffee drinkers

A different coffee bean is used to make decaffeinated coffee and scientists have discovered that it contains more fat than regular coffee beans, leading to the belief than decaffeinated coffee can increase heart disease. Out of study groups who drank caffeinated coffee, decaffeinated coffee and no coffee, the decaffeinated coffee drinkers had a higher fat blood content, putting consumers at risk of cardiovascular disease. The researchers recommended that decaffeinated coffee should not be considered a healthier option to its caffeinated counterpart.
