Magnetic stimulation of brain may treat major depression

A US hospital and university are currently testing the effectiveness of transcranial magnetic stimulation in treating major depression. This technique may help those patients who don’t respond to currently available antidepressants. The treatment is noninvasive and involves sending magnet energy to the brain to stimulate nerve cells.
