Some health facts about diet soda
Diet soda has long been perceived to be the more acceptable form of soft drink, however there are relatively unknown health concerns for those who consume soda regularly. Young people who substitute milk for soda have an increased risk of suffering from osteoporosis at an earlier age due to the bone leaching properties of soda and the absence of adequate calcium in their diet. Caffeine in sodas can be addictive to certain people and it also promotes dehydration despite being a fluid. There is a thought that consumption of diet soda stimulates people to crave sugary foods, supporting a recent study that found that people who were more likely to drink diet soda were obese. Diet soda should never replace water or milk as a source of rehydration.
