Vioxx approved for treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

The FDA has approved the use of Vioxx for children suffering from common forms of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (pauciarticular, polyarticular). The children need to be over 2 years old and weigh more than 22 pounds. Vioxx has already been approved for use in treatment of severe migraine in adults. The approval was based on a study involving 310 patients.
