Oophoritis

Oophoritis: Introduction

Inflammation of one or both ovaries. The inflammation usually occurs with salpingitis (infection of the fallopian tube), pelvic inflammatory disease or other infections. The ovaries are a pair of internal reproductive organs that produce eggs and hence oophoritis may affect fertility.
