Abdominopelvic Cavity: The abdominopelvic cavity is an enclosed chamber located within the ventral cavity that contains some of the body's organs and structures. The abdominopelvic cavity includes the pelvic cavity and the abdominal cavity and includes the stomach, pancreas, liver, bladder, kidneys, intestines, and reproductive organs. The abdominopelvic cavity is lined by the peritoneum.
Conditions that can afflict the abdominopelvic cavity include pancreatitis, uterine rupture, peritonitis, trauma, cancer, genetic disorders, birth defects, and syndromes.
