Introduction: Anabolism

A metabolic process that creates a larger molecule from smaller molecules is called anabolism or an anabolic process. An anabolic process usually consumes energy. A well-known example is anabolic steroids, which are substances that stimulate or aid in the creation of muscle tissue. The opposite is catabolism where larger molecules are broken down, usually releasing energy.
