Summary Information: Bronchioles

Bronchioles: The bronchioles are small hollow tubes in the lungs that branch off from the larger bronchi. The bronchioles transport and disperse air into and out of the lungs and end in small sacs called alveoli.

Conditions affecting the bronchioles include bronchiolitis, asthma, influenza, trauma, cancer, infection, birth defects, and genetic diseases.
