Elastic Cartilage: Elastic cartilage is a tough and flexible type of cartilage that is both stiff and elastic and functions to give structure to and keep certain body organs and parts open. Elastic cartilage is located in the ear, Eustachian tubes and epiglottis. Conditions that can afflict elastic cartilage include relapsing polychondritis.
