Fibrocartilage: Fibrocartilage is a tough and strong type of cartilage, consisting of collagen. It is found in places that must handle a lot of stress, such as the intervertebral discs, symphysis pubis and in some tendons and ligament attachments. Conditions that can afflict the fibrocartilage include spinal disc herniation, arthritis, relapsing polychondritis, inflammation and trauma.
