Gastric Mucosa : Surface epithelium in the stomach that invaginates into the lamina propria, forming gastric pits. Tubular glands, characteristic of each region of the stomach (cardiac, gastric, and pyloric), empty into the gastric pits. The gastric mucosa is made up of several different kinds of cells.

Gastric Mucosa: Gastric mucosa is the inner mucus membrane lining of the stomach. Gastric mucosa contains gastric glands located in the gastric pits in the deeply folded tissue of the gastric mucosa. Conditions that afflict gastric mucosa include stomach cancer, indigestion, gastric ulcer, Helicobacter pylori infection and gastritis.
