Immunoglobulins: Immunoglobulins are a part of the body's immune system. Immunoglobulins are substances made of protein found in the blood and other body fluids that fight harmful foreign substances and microorganisms that can invade the body and cause problems to health, such as infections. These harmful elements are known as antigens. Immunoglobulins are produced by the body's b lymphocytes, a type of white blood cells.
There are five types of immunoglobulins: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM. Conditions that can afflict the immunoglobulins include autoimmune diseases, HIV, allergies, and immunodeficiency.
