Summary Information: Jejunum

Jejunum: The jejunum is the second section of the small intestine. It is a hollow muscular tube that connects the duodenum to the ileum of the small intestine. Partially digested food, or chyme, is moved from the duodenum into the jejunum through the action of peristalsis. The jejunum continues the process of digestion and absorption of nutrients.
