Pronation: Pronation is an anatomical term that is used to describe a specific action of a muscle on the forearm or foot. Twisting the flexed forearm so that the palm turns downward is an example of pronation.
Pronation is the opposite action of supination. Conditions that can affect normal pronation include musculoskeletal trauma, bone fracture, myalga, muscle/tendon rupture, muscle/tendon tears, strains, arthritis, myopathy, atrophy, infectious myositis, and neuromuscular diseases.
