Sections of the Stomach: The stomach has four distinct sections. They are the cardia, fundus, body and pylorus. The sections of the stomach are muscular areas of the hollow stomach organ and a part of the digestive system, located in the left side of the upper abdomen. The four sections of the stomach play a large role in the secondary digestion of foods.
Conditions that afflict the four sections of the stomach include stomach cancer, indigestion, gastric ulcer, Helicobacter pylori infection and gastritis.
