Talus: The talus is one of seven tarsal bones, which are located in each ankle and foot area. The talus articulates with the tibia and fibula to allow for the complex, flexible movements of the ankle. It also articulates with the calcaneus and the navicular tarsal bones. The talus is a part of the appendicular skeleton. Conditions that can afflict the talus include infection, trauma, fracture, osteoporosis, osteomyelitis and dislocations.
