Thoracic Cavity: The thoracic cavity is an enclosed chamber located within the ventral cavity that contains some of the body's organs and structures. The thoracic cavity includes the pleural cavity, thoracic aorta, pulmonary vein, pulmonary artery, vena cavas, heart, and lungs. The thoracic cavity is lined by the pericardium and the pleural membrane.
