Glossary for Peyronie's disease

Bent penis: Abnormal bending or curvature of the penis
Dilantin - Teratogenic Agent: There is strong evidence to indicate that the use of Dilantin (anti-seizure medication) during pregnancy may cause a teratogenic effect on the fetus. A teratogen is a substance that can cause birth defects. The likelihood and severity of defects may be affected by the level of exposure and the stage of pregnancy that the exposure occurred at.
Dupuytren's contracture: A condition where the layer of connective tissue under the skin of the palm of the hand thickens and shrinks which can cause the fingers to bend in to the palms. The bent fingers are usually unable to be fully straightened.
Fibrosis: The formation of fibrous tissue
Impotence: Inability to attain or sustain an erection.
Infertility: Inability of couples to establish pregnancy by having sexual intercourse over a period of time, usually more than 1 year in length.
Male sexual conditions: Any condition that affects the ability of a male to have sexual relations
Painful erection: Penis pain occurring from an erection

Possible human carcinogenic exposure - Phenytoin: Some evidence indicates that exposure to Phenytoin (an anticonvulsant medication) has a possible link to an increased risk of developing cancer in humans. The carcinogenicity of the substance may be influenced by the duration and level of exposure.
Possibly Autoimmune Diseases: Diseases that may be autoimmune or have an autoimmune subtype, but it is unclear or controversial.
