Pheochromocytoma

Pheochromocytoma: Introduction

Pheochromocytoma is a rare tumor in the adrenal glands that causes excess secretion of catecholamines. This leads mainly to hypertension but can also lead to hyperglycemia and diabetes-like symptoms. Only about 1 in a 1000 people with hypertension have a pheochromocytoma.
