Pituitary conditions: Introduction

Any condition that affects the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain and produces hormones that control other hormone-producing glands. For example it produces a thyroid-stimulating hormone which stimulates the thyroid gland into producing hormones. Some conditions that can affect the pituitary gland includes pituitary cancer, Cushing's syndrome and Addison's disease.
