Associated Conditions for Psychotic disorders

Statistics for medical condition associated with Psychotic disorders:

The following are statistics from various sources about associated diseases and Psychotic disorders:

  • 25.1% of people with psychotic disorders also had a medical history of cannabis abuse in Australia (Australia’s Health 2004, AIHW)
  • 30% of people with psychotic disorders also had a medical history of alcohol abuse or alcohol dependency in Australia (Australia’s Health 2004, AIHW)

About associated conditions for Psychotic disorders:

Associated conditions are those which appear statistically related, but do not have a clear cause or effect relationship. Whereas the complications are caused by Psychotic disorders, and underlying causes may be causes of Psychotic disorders, the following list shows associated conditions that simply appear with higher frequency in people who have Psychotic disorders. In some cases, there may be overlap between this list and risk factors for Psychotic disorders. People with Psychotic disorders may be more likely to get a condition on the list of associated conditions, or the reverse may be true, or both. Whether they are causes of, caused by, or simply coincidentally related to Psychotic disorders is not always clear. For general information, see Associated Condition Misdiagnosis.
