Retroverted uterus: Introduction

A condition where the uterus is tipped backwards. The condition is quite common and occurs in about 1 in 5 US women. A retroverted uterus may result from conditions such as endometriosis, pregnancy and pelvic inflammatory disease. However, many women are born with the condition and it is quite normal. Many women suffer no symptoms whereas others suffer symptoms such as pain during sex and menstruation.
