Stuttering: Introduction
A speech disorder characterized by interruptions to the flow of speech. These interruptions can involve frequent repetitions of syllables or words or inability to start a word as well as other speech flow interruptions. Stuttering is often worse when a person is nervous. No obvious cause for stuttering has been determined although genetics seem to play a role. Stuttering usually begins during childhood.
