  • What symptoms did you experience? - e.g. upper or lower limb weakness or paralysis, increased tone of musculature of upper or lower limbs, speech affected, vision affected, swallowing affected.
  • Past history of transient ischemic attacks? - TIAs have a tendency to recur.
  • Past medical history? - e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, atrial fibrillation, obesity, mitral valve stenosis, heart attack, bacterial endocarditis, lupus erythematosus - indicate increased risk of stroke.
