Diagnostic tests for Genital sores:

Various tests are used in the diagnosis of Genital sores. Some of these are listed below :

    • Examine genital area and note the features of the sores - e.g. ulcer, lump or warts.
    • Note any associated redness, discharge or rash
    • Examine other areas of skin that may be affected - e.g. webs of fingers in scabies infection.
    • Vaginal speculum examination (if not too painful) to observe any discharge and lesions within the vagina and to allow swabs to be taken
