No biopsy to be done in juvenile angiofibroma: Juvenile angiofibroma occurs in adolescent males. Exact aetiology of the condition is not known although it is thought to be due to testosterone. The patient presents with epistaxis, nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea and sometimes anosmia conductive deafness. It has to be distinguished from other conditions such as a pyogenic granuloma, nasal polyp, cysts and carcinoma. A history of allergy can be asked for in cases of nasal polyps. This can be done with the help of investigations such as CT scan. Biopsy is contraindicated in cases of juvenile polyp as it can lead to severe haemorrhage....read more »
