Pressure: Introduction
Pressure refers to a physical feeling of pressing, hardness, tightness or stiffness in a body area. Pressure may be related to swelling or stiffness. Particularly dangerous is chest pressure, which may indicate a heart attack, even without chest pain. Also serious is any type of abdominal pressure; see abdominal swelling or abdominal pain. For analysis of mental or emotional pressure symptoms, see stress, fatigue, and their related symptoms. All pressure symptoms need prompt professional medical advice.
