Crying infant (medical symptom): Although infants and young children cry for a variety of simple reasons (tired, thirsty, hungry, lonely, scared, full diaper, etc.), crying can also be a symptom of various medical conditions. Reduced or weakened crying may also be a symptom of various problems. Unusual, excessive or changed crying of an infant is a serious symptom that needs prompt professional medical advice.
