Introduction: Delayed growth

Poor growth (medical symptom): Normal growth is important for infants, children and adolescents. A slowing of growth rates can indicate various medical problems, even if it does not lead to weight loss. In other words, it is not enough to have some growth, but the growth rate must be enough for the normal rate. Growth rates and metrics such as weight, height, and head circumference should be evaluated against average ranges, and any change in the percentile ranking assessed carefully. Any growth abnormality needs early professional medical diagnosis, especially for infants and children.
