Questions Your Doctor May Ask - and Why!

During a consultation, your doctor will use various techniques in his assesment of the symptom: Abdominal symptoms. These may include a physical examination or other medical tests. Your doctor may ask several questions when assessing your condition. It is important to remember that your consultation is a two-way process and any extra information you can share with your doctor may help them with their diagnosis.

Some of the questions your doctor may ask are listed below:

  1. Have you experienced any abdominal pain?

    Why: Abdominal pain can indicate a great many conditions of serious concern.

  2. Have you noticed an abdominal mass?

    Why: If present, these can be exceedingly important in assisting your Health Professional to diagnose and treat your condition.

  3. Have you had any recent or past abdominal swelling or distension? This is an important symptom which your Health Professional will want to know as it can be as a result of many different diseases
