  • Physical examination
    • Look for signs of hyperthyroidism including rapid pulse, agitation, restlessness, enlarged thyroid (goiter), warm and sweaty palms, fine tremor, protruding eyes
  • Blood tests
    • Full blood count
    • Thyroid function tests to detect hyperthyroidism
    • Thyroid autoantibodies
    • Estrogen , FSH may provide information concerning menopausal status
  • Radiological investigations
