• Enlarged adenoids: Enlargement of the adenoid glands, which lie in the oropharynx.
• Infantile sleep apnea: Apnea of infancy occurs in children who are younger than 1 year old and who were born after a full-term pregnancy.
• Insomnia: feeling of melancholy
• Marfan syndrome: A genetic connective tissue disorder involving a defect of chromosome 15q21.1 which affects the production of the fibrillin needed to make connective tissue.
• Mixed apnea: Mixed apnea is a combination of central and obstructive apnea and is seen particularly in infants or young children who have abnormal control of breathing.
• Nasal polyp: A polyp that is found in the nasal passage
• Nasal polyps: A growth or mass in the mucous membrane of the nasal passage
• Obesity: Excessive body weight especially fat.
• Obesity hypoventilation syndrome: Obesity hypoventilation syndrome is defined as the combination of obesity (body mass index above 30kg/m2), hypoxia (falling oxygen levels in blood) during sleep, and hypercapnia (increased blood carbon dioxide levels) during the day, resulting from hypoventilation (excessively slow or shallow breathing)
• Obstructive sleep apnea: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome is characterized by episodic upper airway obstruction that occurs during sleep.
• Overweight: An increase in the body weight greater than that required for normal function that is characterised by the accumulation of excessive fat
• Pickwickian syndrome: A syndrome characterized by obesity, somnolence, hypoventilation and erythrocytosis
• Pituitary tumors, adult: A benign or cancer tumor that develops in the tissue of the pituitary gland in adults. The pituitary gland produces various hormones and some pituitary tumors (functioning tumors) can affect the secretion of one or more of these hormones resulting in a range of symptoms depending on the exact location of the tumor. Some pituitary tumors do not affect hormone production (nonfunctioning tumors).
• Sleep Apnea Syndromes: Syndromes involving the cessation of breathing during sleep. Examples include obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea. The condition may range from mild to severe.
• Sleep apnea: A condition which is characterized by transient attacks of apnea that usually occur during ones sleep
• Sleep disorders: Any condition which affects ones sleep
• Sleep symptoms: Symptoms affecting sleep patterns.
• Sleeping problems: Any problems that disturb ones sleep
• Snoring: Snoring noises during sleep.
• Snoring in children:
• Stridor: Noisy breathing such as wheezing
• Stuffed nose: Blockage to the nose often from runny nose
• Throat symptoms: Symptoms affecting the throat
• Tonsilitis: Inflammation of the tonsils in the throat.
• Wheezing: Breathing difficulty with specific wheezing sound.
