Tonsil disorders: Introduction

Any condition affecting the tonsils. The tonsils are small structures at the back of the throat that are a part of the immune system which helps protect against infection. An infection of the tonsils is called tonsillitis. Other tonsil conditions includes cancer of the tonsils, hypertrophied tonsils and kissing tonsils.
