Enteroscopy: Enteroscopy is the examination of the small bowel to remove a tissue sample (biopsy); an endoscope is inserted into the mouth or nose and down the gastrointestinal tract. This procedure may be referred to as double-balloon enteroscopy, as inflated balloons attached to the end of the scope aid in expanding the intestines for better viewing.
