Intracranial pressure monitoring: Intracranial pressure monitoring is a procedure to determine the pressure within the brain cavities. One device is an intraventricular catheter inserted through a hole drilled into the skull. The catheter, which is a thin hollow tube with a pressure monitor on the end, can also drain any accumulated cerebral spinal fluid that is detrimental to the brain.
