Introduction: X-rays
X-rays are a very common type of test that looks
at your physical make-up.
They are well-known for use in examining fractures,
but are used to analyse numerous other medical conditions.
Modern x-ray equipment is very safe.
Although repeated x-rays were dangerous in the past (and also for the doctors
giving the x-ray tests; see x-rays),
the risk is greatly reduced by modern technology.
Nevertheless, certain measures may be used to reduce or avoid x-ray exposure.
Always tell your doctor if you are pregnant or may possibly be pregnant.
Many doctors may give you your own x-rays to keep.
After all, they are pictures of your body.
However, note that x-rays are very difficult to interpret
for untrained people.
