Warts
Warts: Introduction
A horny skin lump which can occur on just about any part of the body including the genitals but is more common on the hands an feet. Warts are caused by any virus from the human papillomavirus family. Warts often disappear without treatment but they may persist for long periods of time, even years, if untreated. Warts are contagious although some people seem more prone to them than others and some types of warts appear more contagious (such as genital warts). Flat wart, genital wart, plantar wart and verruca vulgaris are some of the different types of warts.
